Energy allowance application form now available online

The energy allowance for low-income households proposed by the minister of Family Affairs and Integration, Corinne Cahen, is part of the package of measures aimed at households that are severely impacted by rising energy prices. This energy allowance, presented at a press conference on 28 February 2022, was approved by the Government Council on 18 March 2022.

Households receiving the cost-of living benefit (AVC) will obtain an energy allowance of at least €200 and up to €400 depending on the composition of the household. In addition, households that are not eligible for the AVC, but whose income is up to 25% higher than the income eligible for the AVC may also benefit from the energy allowance.

Households receiving the AVC will automatically receive the energy allowance - this applies to both those who have already received payment and those who are still waiting to receive it; AVC applications that have been refused because they exceed the income limit will be reconsidered in line with the new arrangements without the need to resubmit the application. All other households will have to apply by 30 September at the latest.

The form "Demande en obtention d'une AVC/prime énergie" and the related scales are now available on the website of the National Solidarity Fund (FNS) and on or can be requested directly from the FNS or the competent social office (office social).

For information on the AVC and the energy allowance, the FNS is available on working days from 08.30 - 11.30 on the phone number 49 10 81 - 999. The e-mail address is
