Inauguration of the new Ligue HMC workshop „bei de Leemkaulen”

On 22 October, the Minister for Family Affairs and Integration, Corinne Cahen, attended the inauguration of the new „bei de Leemkaulen“ workshop of the Ligue HMC in Olm.

Founded in 1963, the Ligue HMC (Ligue luxembourgeoise pour le secours aux enfants, aux adolescents et aux adultes mentalement ou cérébralement handicapés) offers various services to people with disabilities: accommodation, training, work, occupational activities and sheltered workshops.

With a maximum capacity of 50 disabled employees, the workshops in Olm are specialised in the cultivation of seasonal fruit and vegetables throughout the year. The products grown in the workshops are sold in the Ligue HMC's shop in Capellen and in large supermarkets.

In her speech, the minister thanked the Ligue HMC for the good cooperation over the years and the development of innovative ideas to support people with disabilities in their daily lives. "It is fantastic that through a project like this, people with disabilities are supported on their way to independence and thus have the chance to implement their own life plans."
