Volunteering by and for older people
Theatrical improvisation and discovery of volunteering projects
On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) and as part of the International Year of Volunteers, the Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees, in collaboration with GERO – Kompetenzzenter fir den Alter and the Luxembourg Improvisation Federation (FLI), invites you to an evening dedicated to commitment, sharing and connecting with others.
Giving your time, sharing your experience, building connections, passing on your knowledge or simply being there for others: volunteering can take many forms, at any age.
This evening offers a different perspective on volunteering by and for older people, through the presentation of concrete projects and a theatrical improvisation performance.
Program
Welcome address
Welcome and opening remarks by Max Hahn, Minister of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees.
Presentation of inspiring volunteering projects
Giving a voice to people involved in the sector and discovering concrete initiatives that illustrate the diversity and richness of volunteering by and for older people.
Theatrical improvisation match
Through humour, authenticity and emotion, the performers will draw inspiration from the testimonials and projects presented to explore on stage different realities related to ageing and volunteering.
Closing reception
To round off the evening, an informal get-together over drinks, offering an opportunity to talk, share ideas and continue the conversations.
