Building relationships feels good
Discover intergenerational volunteeringLoneliness is a reality that can affect any one of us! It particularly affects older people, for whom a lack of social contact can weigh heavily on their daily lives.
With this campaign, the Ministry for Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees wishes to raise awareness of the isolation of older people and encourage everyone to devote a little of their time to others. Volunteering is a simple, humane and powerful way to break isolation, share precious moments and learn from each other.
By giving your time, you offer much more than just your presence: you give meaning, you bring a smile... and you build relationships that last.

Social isolation affects many elderly people, and volunteering is a concrete way to provide them with support and companionship.
For those affected by isolation, this situation is not irreversible: various activities and opportunities for engagement allow them to reconnect with social life.
People affected by social isolation can also choose to volunteer in order to rediscover meaning, connection and an active role in the community. Find a volunteer activity that matches your interests and values on the Agence du Bénévolat's benevolat.lu platform.
