Accomodation facilities for adults

For vulnerable people who require support before being able to live independently, accommodation facilities offer various forms of housing such as shelters, single rooms, living communities or studios. This diversity of housing facilities allows to respond appropriately to the needs of different users.

These facilities operate day and night and can accommodate both single people and families. They provide relief for people who are homeless or at risk of social exclusion, whether it is due to financial problems, over-indebtedness, loss of employment, relationship problems, violence or health problems.

Housing is made available in a number of ways, such as on the private market using the Gestion Locative Sociale tool, affordable housing, etc.

The intensity of the support depends on the structures and the difficulties presented by the residents, ranging from a permanent presence during the day to sporadic support when needed. Social support for residents may also be provided by external associations (partners). The duration of the accommodation is determined by the time needed for the residents to achieve a sufficient level of independence to enable them to reintegrat

The Ministry conventions a number of accommodation facilities for adults. By 2022, these facilities will offer 1,394 housing units for 4,425 people:

Since 2024, residents have been living in the ‘’Lieu de vie pour personnes en précarité vieillissante‘’ pilot project. With 22 rooms, the project is located within Elisabeth's Haaptmann's Schlass home for the elderly in Berbourg. This innovative project aims to provide a stable and secure environment for people who have experienced homelessness, by offering them support and accommodation tailored to their specific needs.
