Close today, caregiver tomorrow. - We are all caregivers.

Awareness Campaign:

One day, we may all provide support to someone close to us.

An informalcaregiver is someone who regularly helps a parent, friend, or neighbor in a situation of dependency or fragility, without being a healthcare professional. This support can take many forms:

  • Accompanying someone to medical appointments or assisting with administrative tasks,
  • Grocery shopping, preparing meals,
  • Providing companionship and offering a sympathetic ear,
  • Etc.

Being an informal caregiver goes beyond simply offering help; it means serving as both a moral and practical support for those in need. Though often unnoticed, this role is vital to the well-being of those who rely on it.

And You?

You might already be an informal caregiver without realizing it. Ask yourself:

  • Do you regularly assist someone close to you with daily tasks?
  • Do you offer companionship and / or provide a sympathetic ear?

Have you ever supported someone without even noticing it?

This role, while rewarding, can also be demanding and emotionally challenging. Thankfully, there are resources and solutions available to support you in this important mission.

Why talk about it?

Shining a light on these acts of support allows us to:

  • Acknowledge the importance of such daily assistance,
  • Promote solidarity and strengthen family or friendly connections,
  • Encourage caregivers to seek the help they need.

Because together, every gesture counts.
